Waylines
I’ve been making music in some form or another since I was a child, mostly in electronic genres, generally techno. So when Waylines started taking form in my DAW, I was surprised that it pretty much wrote itself. Tracks usually start and die within an hour, or live a life of potential for months before becoming dormant. Waylines had a life of its own, and for someone who usually avoids melody, that was a surprise.
Production-wise, this was done in FL Studio using Diva for the melodic sections. Some of the pads were made by playing sounds through a speaker placed inside an acoustic guitar, then recording that back into the DAW and washing it out with reverb.
This is definitely not my normal style, but I love the soundscape it has.
Enjoy.
